United Airlines and The Trotter Project, and restaurants across the country are teaming up for a special Charlie Trotter Day celebration, Aug. 17-21 to raise funds for the project’s Pillars of Excellence Mentor Program.
The program, which honors the late great Chicago chef Charlie Trotter, educates, trains and provides opportunities for aspiring chefs and others in the hospitality industry.
During the next four days, United will donate $1 for every item sold from its Choice Menu Bistro on Board selection on all domestic flights, to the program.
“Charlie Trotter Day is an opportunity for the culinary and hospitality communities, including our partner United Airlines, to reflect on our shared love of food and passion for excellence,” said Derrek Hull, Executive Director of The Trotter Project in a prepared statement. “We are committed to carrying forth Chef Trotter’s legacy as a mentor. The Trotter Project answers the need for career opportunities, pathways for growth, and consistent mentorship for the next generation.”
