SEEN ON THE SCENE: Chicago native Graham Moore, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “The Imitation Game,” will be back in his hometown for a 7 p.m. Thursday book signing of his new novel, “The Last Days of Night,” at the Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln.

In this new book, Moore fictionalized the late 1880s  New York City legal battle between George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison — over who could lay claim to having invented the electric light bulb. At the center of the fight is Westinghouse’s young attorney Paul Cravath, who would go on to become one of New York’s most famous lawyers. … “Chicago PD” star Marina Squerciati was spied getting active (see photo above) — attending the “Bouldering with Bai Antiwater” rock climbing event at First Ascent — the year-old rock climbing facility in Avondale. … Fans of Gwen Stefani couldn’t miss the superstar hanging with her boys Kingston, Zuma and Apollo at RM Champagne Salon in the West Loop. … Carl Weathers was seen dining on a beautiful Dover sole at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab on Monday night. … With the “Empire” cast back in town filming the new season, it’s no surprise Terrence Howard headed to Jellyfish on Rush to get his sushi fix the other night. … Recent sightings at RPM Italian have included NFL player Terrell Owens and separately the Sox’s Carlos Rodon, while meanwhile over at sister operation — RPM Steak — NFL legend John Elway, the Cubs’ Dexter Fowler and music man Josh Groban were seen dining. … The Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist took his in-laws out to enjoy a “Meat & More Meat” pizza at Giordano’s on North Rush.
