Authorities are still asking for the public’s help in finding the killer or killers of an elderly woman and her son last week inside their rural DeKalb County home.

Deputies passed out informational flyers Sunday evening at a roadblock near the home in the 16000 block of Old State Road in Sycamore, where 85-year-old Patricia A. Wilson was found slain along with her 64-year-old son Robert J. Wilson Aug. 15, sheriff’s police said. Sycamore is about 20 miles west of Elgin.

Both had been beaten to death, and autopsies ruled the deaths homicides. DeKalb County Crime Stoppers on Friday announced an $11,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police said at least one person broke into the home and took off in a white, 2010 four-door Chevrolet Impala with an Illinois license plate of 903 0980. Investigators have not commented on a motive in the killings.

The sheriff’s office said it had 20 investigators following up on almost 300 leads in the case as of Friday.

Anyone with information should call sheriff’s office at (815) 895-2155, or Crime Stoppers at (815) 895-3272.
