Man shot in groin in Austin

A man was shot Monday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 11:05 a.m. in the 500 block of North Central, according to Chicago Police.

The 24-year-old man was shot in the groin and took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized.

A police source said the man is a gang member and not cooperating with investigators.
