A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday evening in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 20-year-old was outside at 7:04 p.m. in the 400 block of East 79th when two cars drove by and someone inside one of them fired at him, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the arm, leg, abdomen and buttocks and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized.

The attacker knocked on the back door and pushed it open in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road, Chicago police said.
Both firefighters were hospitalized with injuries not considered to be serious.
