Two men were shot early Thursday while driving in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About midnight, they were in a vehicle making a turn in the 1000 block of West 97th when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said. The other man, 18, suffered a graze wound to the abdomen and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park in good condition.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
