Overnight road closings and detours are planned for Illinois Route 390 in Roselle this weekend as part of the Illinois Tollway’s Elgin-O’Hare western access project.

One eastbound lane of Route 390 will be closed between Roselle Road and Mitchell Boulevard at 9 p.m. Saturday, according to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.

All eastbound lanes will be closed between Roselle Road and Lake Street at 10 p.m. Saturday, with traffic detoured along Lake, Gary Avenue, Central Avenue and Roselle. One lane should reopen by 7 a.m. Sunday, and all lanes are scheduled to reopen by 10 a.m. Sunday.

All of this is to allow crews to install toll-collection equipment as part of the Elgin-O’Hare project.

During the overnight closing, an eastbound traffic shift also will be put into place between Lake and Rodenburg Road to create a work zone on the left side for construction and widening work on Route 390.

A similar full closing will be in effect Sunday night to complete installation of over-the-road tolling equipment on the westbound lanes of Route 390, according to the tollway. Traffic will be detoured using Roselle, Irving Park Road, Barrington Road and Lake.

One lane should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, and all lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday.
