Two people were shot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side early Saturday.

The two men were standing on a porch in the 6300 block of South Rockwell about 1:18 a.m. “unknown offenders” opened fire, police said. One of the two men, a 25-year-old with a concealed carry license, returned fire, though no one else was struck.

The 25-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. The other man, 31, was shot in the leg and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.
