A 28-year-old man was shot during a robbery early Sunday in the Riverdale neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 1:20 a.m., he was on the sidewalk in the 13000 block of South Ellis when another male, armed with a gun, walked up and announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police. The man complied and the suspect then opened fire.

He was shot twice in the right leg and took himself to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
