A 20-year-old man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 4:20 p.m., Terrence Murphy was on a sidewalk near his home in the 5400 block of West Jackson when someone walked up and shot him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police initially said he was 17.

Murphy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where died at 4:43 p.m., authorities said.
