A man was shot and critically wounded Saturday night on the Near West Side.

The 33-year-old was leaving a home about 9:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Maypole when another male exited a silver vehicle nearby and opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The shooter then got back in the vehicle, which sped away.

The man was shot in the head, both legs and right arm and was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
