A man was shot early Monday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 19-year-old was outside about 1:45 a.m. in the 5200 block of West Washington when someone in black clothing walked up and opened fire, striking the man in the right leg and right hand, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said, adding that the man is a documented gang member.
