A man was shot early Wednesday in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side.

At 12:18 a.m., the 36-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of East 82nd Street when another male walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the left arm, left leg and abdomen and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
