Chicago traffic and commuting conditions at 6 a.m.

Heavy rain and standing water conditions were the main issue facing motorists early Thursday morning, with numerous smaller accidents being reported.

Rain was tapering off heading into the the 6 a.m. hour and flash flood warnings dropped in the Chicago area, however, with road conditions expected to clear through the morning commute.

There were some delays on Metra being reported:

No reported delays at the airport. A double-decker express train to O’Hare might help make getting there easier and quicker, too.
