Man shot in Edgewater

A man was shot late Wednesday in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side.

The 25-year-old was outside about 11 p.m. in the 5700 block of North Kenmore when someone walked up and shot him multiple times, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, Greer said.

A woman who lives nearby told a reporter at the scene she heard about eight gunshots.
