Man shot in West Englewood

A 40-year-old man was shot in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night.

The man was sitting in front of a home in the 5700 block of South Wolcott shortly before 8 p.m. when someone in a passing vehicle shot him in the elbow, police said.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
