Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies in the Northwest Side Wicker Park neighborhood.

One to two men walked up to couples on the sidewalk, pulled out a handgun and forced the victims to lie down on the ground before taking their wallets and cell phones, according to a community alert from police.

The incidents happened:

  • At 9:45 p.m. July 24 in the 2000 block of West Pierce;
  • At 10:45 p.m. July 30 in the 1900 block of West Evergreen;
  • And at 11:05 p.m. July 30 in the 1700 block of North Honore.

The suspects are described as one to two black men, 18-20 years of age, standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 120-140 pounds, police said. They wore black hooded sweatshirts that hid their faces.
