A man was shot in the South Chicago neighborhood early Saturday.

The 24-year-old was driving south at 12:01 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Kingston when he heard gunfire and realized he was shot, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the upper left leg, police said.
