Passengers on northbound CTA Red Line trains were robbed over the weekend on the North Side, according to a community alert by Chicago Police.

The first robbery happened about 2 a.m. Friday at the Jarvis Avenue station, police said. The second happened about 2 a.m. Sunday at the Howard Street station.

Both robberies occurred on northbound Red Line trains headed to the Howard Street station, according to police. In each case, passengers were approached by two or three men in their 20s who showed a knife and demanded their property. The men left the trains at either the Jarvis Avenue or Howard Street stations.
