A man who was shot to death nearly two weeks ago in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side has been identified.

Officers responded to a call of a person shot at 5:58 a.m. July 29 in the 6500 block of South Peoria, and found the man unresponsive, according to Chicago Police.

Mbiganyi Lashani, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:20 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 3200 block of West Walnut.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
