A man was shot early Tuesday in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

The 25-year-old was walking at 12:48 a.m. on the sidewalk in the 400 block of East 71st Street when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the hand, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
