Man robs bank in Steger

A bank was robbed Tuesday afternoon in south suburban Steger.

A man robbed the Old Plank Trail Bank branch at 20 W. 34th St. about 2:55 p.m., according to the FBI. The incident was described as a “non-takeover robbery.”

The suspect was described as a black man in his 40s, standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with a medium build, the FBI said. He was wearing all black.
