A man was shot Monday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side.

About 4:33 p.m., a 23-year-old man was walking westbound in the 10200 block of South LaSalle when a male walked up behind him and fired shots then ran away, according to Chicago Police.

The man took himself to Roseland Community Hospital but was transferred to Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.
