Police are warning residents of two armed robberies that occurred this month in the South Shore neighborhood.

The victims were approached by a male suspect with a gun, who robbed them of their cellphones, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened about 10:35 p.m. Sept. 6 in the 7700 block of South Constance Avenue; and about 12:50 a.m. Sept. 7 in the 1900 block of East 75th Street.

The suspect is described as a black male with dark brown complexion and hair worn in an afro. He is thought to be 16-20 years old, about 5-foot-4 and 120-140 pounds, police said.
