A 17-year-old girl died early Wednesday after a single-vehicle crash in west suburban Maywood.

About 1 a.m. Tuesday, Giselle Marchin was a passenger in a vehicle being driven north on Ninth Avenue at Madison Street, according to Lt. Dennis Diaz with the Maywood Police Department. While crossing the intersection, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a utility pole and Marchin was ejected.

Marchin was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where she was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Her home address was not known.

An autopsy Wednesday found she died of multiple injuries from the motor vehicle crash and her death was ruled an accident.

No charges have been filed, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
