A 30-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday on a charge of vehicle burglary in west suburban Glen Ellyn.

Jonathan J. Hovde, of the 900 block of Waverly Road in Glen Ellyn, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Scott Avenue after it was reported that he got into a parked car that belonged to someone else, according to a statement from Glen Ellyn police.

The officers who responded were in the area conducting surveillance due to recent car burglaries, police said.

Hovde was charged with burglary in connection with a vehicle burglary that occurred on Sept. 18 at a home on Windsor Avenue. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, according to police.
