A man was hospitalized after being shot and wounded early Saturday in what the police said appeared to have been a gang-related attack on a Dan Ryan Expressway ramp onto the Stevenson Expressway.

The man, in his mid-20s, was a passenger in a vehicle on the ramp from the southbound Dan Ryan onto the Stevenson  at 5:12 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside flashed a gang sign and fired three shots, one of which struck the man in the face, according to the Illinois State Police, which said the driver took him to a hospital.
