A man was shot in the left hand early Saturday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

About 2:20 a.m., the 20-year-old was outside in the 5600 block of South Marshfield when someone opened fire from a passing white Pontiac, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. Police said the shooting likely was gang-related.

Two people were wounded in another shooting in the same neighborhood 20 minutes earlier.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
