MILWAUKEE — So far there’s more smoke than fire to rumors about the Twins pursuing Cubs execs Jason McLeod or Shiraz Rehman for their top baseball operations job.

The Twins are not believed to have requested permission to talk to them, and neither seems to be pursuing the job.

“I’m really happy with my situation here, and I think everyone with the organization is 100 percent focused on trying to bring a championship to the city of Chicago,” said Rehman, echoing sentiments expressed by McLeod when asked about the opening last month.

“I’m flattered by whatever media attention might come of something like that,” added Rehman, Jed Hoyer’s assistant general manager, “but I’m really happy and focused on what we’re doing in Chicago.”
