A 33-year old man was shot Friday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 4:08 p.m., the man was walking in the 700 block of North Springfield Avenue when a black SUV drove up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago Police said. He was shot in the right leg and abdomen.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Police said he is a documented gang member.
