A man was shot to death Saturday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, according to police.

The 26-year-old was outside about 6:55 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Rice when a vehicle drove by and someone inside fired shots, Chicago Police said.

He was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s officer could not immediately confirm the death.

No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigated.
