A 24-year-old man was shot to death Saturday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Jacob Norwood was sitting in a vehicle at 1:42 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Monroe when someone walked up to the vehicle and shot him in the neck, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Norwood was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 800 block of South Karlov.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
