A man robbed a bank inside a grocery store Tuesday morning in northwest suburban Des Plaines.

The non-takeover robbery happened about 11:15 a.m. at the TCF Bank branch in the Jewel-Osco at 1500 S. Lee St. in Des Plaines, according to the FBI.

The suspect, a thin, 5-foot-10 Hispanic man in his 40s, was last seen leaving the area in a cab, authorities said. He was wearing a black red and white knit hat with “Chicago” printed on it, along with a plaid scarf, brown leather jacket, and thick white gloves.
