A 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Monday afternoon in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Just before 5 p.m., the boy was walking in the 3200 block of West 64th Place when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been hit, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said. Area Central detectives are investigating.
