An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Someone walked up and opened fire about 6:20 p.m. as the man was walking in the 4900 block of West Ohio, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
