A 21-year-old man was seriously wounded in a shooting early Saturday in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

At 2:44 a.m., he was standing on the front porch of a home in the 10000 block of South Parnell when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken with a gunshot wound to the back to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. He was in serious condition.
