A 47-year-old man was shot in the face Thursday afternoon during an attempted robbery in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 12:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Green, according to Chicago Police.

Hewas taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Additional details about the attempted robbery weren’t immediately available.
