A man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Armondo Reyes, 28, was standing near his vehicle in an alley just after 4:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Sacramento when someone walked up, opened fired and then drove off in a light-colored SUV, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Reyes, who lived in the neighborhood, was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 5:05 p.m., authorities said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
