A man was found shot to death Saturday morning in the Far South Side Fernwood neighborhood.
A neighbor found 46-year-old Shurron Hawkins lying in the snow about 8:30 a.m. in the 10200 block of South State, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Officers conducting a well-being check discovered that he’d been shot in the head.
Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He lived in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
An autopsy Sunday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
