A man suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound Sunday afternoon in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The 21-year-old man shot himself in the face in the 9100 block of South Harper at 3:06 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
