A woman was struck by a vehicle Saturday night on the Near North Side.

The 49-year-old was walking in a crosswalk about 10:40 p.m. in the first block of West Chicago Avenue when a vehicle traveling west hit her as it was trying to make a left turn, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

The driver was issued citations for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and driving without insurance, police said.
