A man was critically wounded early Sunday when he was stabbed during a fight in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

He was in a fight about 3:15 a.m. in the street in the 7000 block of South Jeffery when someone stabbed him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The man, whose exact age wasn’t immediately known, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
