Man shot in Fifth City

A man was shot and seriously wounded early Saturday in the Fifth City neighborhood on the West Side.

The 47-year-old was standing in the street at 6:02 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Jackson when a male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The man was shot in the abdomen and the left knee.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
