A man was found shot inside a vehicle after it crashedThursday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded toa report of a crash just before 9 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Halsted and founda vehicle crashed into a tree, according to Chicago Police.

Corey Warner, 45, was found inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in Englewood, just a few blocks from where the crash happened.

Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
