A man was found shot inside a vehicle after it crashed Thursday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded to a report of a crash just before 9 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Halsted and found a vehicle crashed into a tree, according to Chicago Police.

Corey Warner, 45, was found inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in Englewood, just a few blocks from where the crash happened.

Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.

The remains, of a man possibly in his 40s, were recovered about 6:40 a.m.
The woman, 18, was driving a car with three passengers at a restaurant when a man on a bike approached and began arguing with them before shooting, police said.
A 34-year-old man was found on the sidewalk in the 200 block of East 111th Street at about 10 p.m., police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
