A man was charged with stabbing and critically wounding another man Thursday night in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

About 6 p.m., the 50-year-old victim was standing in the 300 block of West 63rd Street when he got into an argument with 37-year-old Darnell Scott, who stabbed him multiple times in the head and abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Scott was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery, police said. He lives in the same neighborhood as the stabbing.

Scott, whose first named was spelled “Darrell” in Cook County sheriff’s records, was ordered held without bond Saturday at the Cook County Jail. He is next scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
