A woman who was struck and killed by a Metra train Friday evening near west suburban Cicero has been identified.

Metra train 1275 on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line struck the woman about 5:50 p.m. near the Cicero station, according to Metra.

Shannel M. Bryant, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:14 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived in the Washington Heights neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.

An autopsy Saturday did not rule on cause and manner of death, with results pending further investigation.
