A 66-year-old man who was reported missing Wednesday from west suburban Glendale Heights has been located, police announced early Thursday.

Steven Wood of El Paso, Illinois, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, was in the area visiting his daughter when he became lost while following a tow truck driver, Illinois State Police said in a missing person alert.

He was last seen about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday near Route 31 and Route 120 in McHenry, according to Glendale Heights police.

Police announced early Thursday that he was spotted by a good Samaritan about 3:30 p.m. near that same McHenry intersection.
