Cirque du Soleil returns to Chicago with ‘Luzia’

Cirque du Soleil returns to Chicago next summer with its latest production, “Luzia,” slated for a monthlong run, July 21-Sept. 3, 2017, under the white and gold big top at the United Center.

The production, with a cast of 44 performers is described as “a waking dream of Mexico… a beautifully intricate world suspended somewhere between dreams and reality… where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirit and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul.” For the first time, a Cirque touring production will incorporate the use of water alongside a bevy of acrobatic and artistic circus disciplines.

Tickets, starting at $35, will go on sale to the general public on Dec. 9 at cirquedusoleil.com/luzia . (Tickets are currently available for purchase by Cirque Club members only.)
