A man was shot and critically wounded early Thursday in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Shortly after midnight, the 40-year-old was standing in a garage in the 4600 block of South Kedzie when two males walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the chest and abdomen and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
