A man was shot late Tuesday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 11:20 p.m., the 20-year-old was on the sidewalk in the 300 block of North Laramie when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the back, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
